Assembly

This section describes the assembly of the machine. It should now be as detailed as a manual from Ikea and I try to mention all important points.

Follow the instructions in the order below: frame, portal, z axis, electronics.
The word “tight” after screw dimensions means that these screws can be fixed because they don’t have to be unscrewed again later. “loose” means that the parts should only be temporarily lightly fixed to one another. In most cases, the parts have to be aligned with one another in a later step and only then be finally fixed.
Be very meticulous about aligning the parts, take your time (at best, days rather than hours). It is satisfying to assemble the machine quickly, however, you will have the deviations that you do not minimize in your milled parts later.

Assembly of the Frame

Brackets
2x MGN12 rails 1000 mm
4x MGN12H rail blocks

2x fixed bearing block BK12
